Yes, NSYNC and Nick Swardson got a matching tattoo from yours truly. hahahah. Sometimes life is about having fun, living in the moment and being in the right time and place, never know what is gonna happen. I think this is super random and sums that up pretty well. hahahah. OK, we were all on a cruise together, Sail Across the Sun 2016, hosted by Train.

A few years ago I met a guy who goes by the name of Stitches and is a rapper from South Florida. If you do not know who he is already, just check out one of his videos on Youtube, very unique..
I've had the pleasure of enjoying a few moments together and hopefully we will cross paths again in the future. We made a pinhead teddy bear on the side of his head... He also visited my studio in Tallahassee, Florida called Monument Tattoos and got a bunch of tattoos from the guys I work with as well, Chris Villiers tattooed an awesome spider on Stitches face, and Matt Manning tattooed a few knuckles as well. I've also had the pleasure of hanging with him and watching his live performance too. All around, Stitches is a good guy, very entertaining and I can certainly appreciate that! Tattoos are not always about perfection, sometimes it is more about the memory and living in the moment, this is life and it is supposed to be fun. There has been plenty of times while on tour that I have let people tattoo each other, just the same as I have gotten tattooed by random people many of times too. We are clean and safe about it all and have never regretted a single moment of it. Chrissy Costanza, Travis Clark, and myself having some fun. Teaching Pete Wentz how to make his mark on Dirty. The Fray leaving their mark on me.. "skrillex" waaaay before he was Skrillex Ashlee Simpson and I shared a moment together as well.. Also showed Demi Lovato a thing or two about making a little tattoo. Cassadee Pope, winner of The Voice, has also been a wonderful victim along the way. hahaha
I met Yelawolf years ago while I was out with A Day to Remember on Warped Tour. We had a lot of fun that summer for sure. I also road with Yelawolf and made a few cool tattoos for him as well. One leg he got the Alabama elephant and the other a raccoon in a trash can, that says "white trash"...
Damn cool guy, definitely enjoyed the ride. Charles Trippy is a great guy who has overcome a lot in his life and who has also accomplished a lot in his life as well. Charles holds the ongoing record and is in the Guiness World Records for having the most consecutive, daily personal videos blogs uploaded to Youtube. So we made a tattoo for it.
I met Demi Lovato while touring with We The Kings many years ago. Demi was young and eager to have a little fun and asked me to make a little tattoo for her behind her ear of a feather. We had a good time making the tattoo and she even got the chance to make a little one herself too,
on Travis of WTK. Good times. We The Kings are a band from Florida made up of some great guys. They have always treated me like family, while inviting me to join them on the road making tattoos for them along the way. These guys love to get tattooed and during some of the craziest moments of Warped Tour is where you can usually find us hidden on a bus making some magic happen. I've spent many hours working with these guys, and I've enjoyed every minute of it along the way. Travis has pretty much gotten both of his arms sleeved out by me at this point, many as reminders of where he has come from along with new memories of his wife and family as well. Danny and I have been working on his black n grey sleeve for a while now too, I really like the underwater and atlantis scene we made. Hunter has really gotten some fun tattoos as well. I love all of his Beetles inspired tattoos, including his "Lucy in the Sky" tattoo, along with his really challenging fixer-upper we made happen too. Charles Trippy joined in for some pixelated pizza fun too. Sometimes tattooing is just about the moment you are living in and wanting to remember an experience in life and at the end of the every tour with these guys I always leave feeling happy and excited about the tattoos we made together and the time shared. Thank you WTK family.
I absolutely love what I do and every day that I get another chance to enjoy life. A lot of people ask how I balance having such a large family as well as such large ambitions and how do my children and wife react to me traveling so much. The answer is that it's not easy at all, everything takes a lot of communication and compromise from us all, and I try my best to include them all as much as possible too. I do know for sure that it has been worth the time and hard work, mainly because I have also been able to watch all of my children be influenced by all of this world around them. They get to meet and get to know a lot of the guys I travel with as well. Now it's super cool to see my kids actually become a fans of these bands as well as learning to play their music on guitar and draw pictures of their logos and song lyrics, the inspiration for them has been amazing to grow up around.
Music and Art are amazing things, especially when they become a part of your family. |
